Find a product by barcode.
Use the camera scanner or type the barcode. Healthy Beetle looks for packaged-food information in USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. Review the returned product and serving information before using it.
A successful lookup does not guarantee that the record matches your current package. Products may be missing, incomplete or updated. If a barcode is not found, use the package label or enter the values manually.
Read the nutrition panel you have.
In AI meal entry, upload a clear nutrition-panel photo for each packaged ingredient. Label reading starts only after you accept the AI disclosure. Check the serving size, units and each extracted number against the original.
Keep unknown values blank. Enter zero only when the label says zero. A number printed as “less than” another amount is not an exact value to invent. You can replace an unreadable photo or enter the label yourself.
A label serving and an eaten portion are different.
The FDA explains that Nutrition Facts information is generally given per serving, while some packages also show whole-package values. The printed serving is not a recommendation for how much to eat.
Confirm which column you entered. Then describe your eaten amount separately. A gram weight on a dry-food package should not be applied directly to cooked grams.

Match the label to the way you weighed the foodUse reviewed information in the whole meal.
You can add more than one package label to an AI meal. Give each ingredient a clear name so its reviewed label can be matched to the food. Include the remaining ingredients and any known amounts in your meal description.
Package details can improve the starting information, but they do not identify hidden oil, sauce or the share of each ingredient in a mixed dish. Review the final meal before saving. Barcode and AI tools are Premium features when subscriptions are enabled.
